By the 1990's the "REIGN" of BEWINGED and his prodgeny was beginning to become diluted by many new imports. Due to the work of dedicated cocker fanciers, many good young dogs, many of them with several lines to Bewinged, were taking over. However the seventies and eighties will long be remembered as the golden age for Brightleaf Kennels, in particular, Ch. Brightleaf Bewinged. Never the less, there were over 100 Champions bred here including names like CH. Brightleaf Bonanza the winner of Best Opposite Sex All Breeds at Sydney Royal in 1962. The latter day winners, Aust. Am. CH. Brightleaf The Blacksmith (CD. TD.) CH Brightleaf Blue Jeans and his brother CH. Brightleaf Spelbinder. Brightleaf Kennels ( Mrs "Mac" Formston ) wish to express gratitude and admiration to all those exhibitors and breeders who helped build this record.
