Directly above Digger At Aged 15 years
Digger was one of my special dog's. Perhaps because he lived so long (171/2 years), he grew
more special with each passing month. He was a
prolific sire and a very good winner, and a special pet. Digger was one of 3 pups we kept from a litter
of CH. Brightleaf Blissfull the forth was sold and attained his Championship. Another brother
Brightleaf Bewillful who was Orange Roan Sired my great producing bitch Brightleaf Balalaika.
Digger himself won well as a puppy and a junior, including several Best Junior In Group and Best
Junior In Show.He won Challenge at the Cocker Spaniel Society Of NSW. He was seriously campaigned by Geoff Love and
attained his title with Four 25pt Challenges, also winning several Groups and In Show awards. In 1983
he was Res. Challenge Dog to CH. Cabal The Luv Machine at Sydney Royal Easter Show, after which
he was retired and placed at very limited Stud at
Brightleaf Kennels. In later years he won several Veteran classes, At almost 14yrs old he was 1st in a
veteran class of 7 under Cocker Specialist Judge Mr Allan Webster of Assquanne (UK).
Digger Passed Away in his sleep on 17-3-99aged 171/2 years never having had a days illness in his life.

The
photo directly above is Happy as a young dog. He was only ever shown once and never
titled but became the sire of many, many winners and pets of impeckable temperament,
and he was the sire of Brightleaf Big Red. Happy was an outcross to my solid colour line, and I line
bred closely to him with great success, getting both golds and reds from him. He was well named
"Happy" he was not bred here but he was also a special dog because of his temperament.
